Location: Mexico
Crop: Strawberries for export to the U.S. and Canada
The system installed: HS Evolution Strawberry
Length: 22,400 linear meters in triads
A client in Mexico has implemented the HS Evolution Strawberry system from Hydroponic Systems across 22,400 linear meters distributed over two greenhouse modules. This innovative setup, consisting of triads (three connected cultivation lines, with one higher than the other two, forming a triangular structure), is designed to maximize the efficiency of strawberry production aimed at international markets such as the U.S. and Canada.
Benefits of the HS Evolution Strawberry System
One of the standout features of this system is the durability offered by the metal gutter, specifically designed to withstand the demands of a hydroponic growing environment. Additionally, its structure allows for precise drainage channeling, facilitating the collection and subsequent disinfection of irrigation water.
The system includes the innovative Spacer, a grid-shaped piece that wraps around the gutter and supports the growing bags, lifting them slightly into the air. This setup not only improves root ventilation but also ensures greater hygiene in production by keeping the bags elevated and away from direct contact with the ground.
Clean and Efficient Production
Thanks to the efficient drainage system that allows for the collection, disinfection, and reuse of irrigation water, the client has achieved not only a clean, root disease-free production but also significant resource optimization. By disinfecting and reusing the drainage, water and fertilizer consumption is considerably reduced, positively impacting both operational costs and the sustainability of the project.
The client in Mexico is already experiencing the benefits of installing the HS Evolution Strawberry system, in terms of durability and water efficiency, and resource management. This is a clear example of how advanced hydroponic solutions can contribute to the sustainability and success of agricultural production aimed at international markets.
